Will you reach your goals?
Financial goals works through your whole plan: what you save, what you receive as pension or income and what you want to spend, from a home to retirement. Thousands of simulated paths show how likely each goal can be paid for.

How it works
You enter payments into a plan: recurring and one-off savings, ongoing income such as a pension, ongoing withdrawals and one-off goals. Amounts are in today's purchasing power and rise with inflation, optionally also with an escalation, a fixed increase per year.
Portfolio Lab simulates the portfolio month by month on thousands of possible return paths drawn from your portfolio's history. Priorities decide what gets paid first: a low-priority goal is only paid if the more important ones are still covered afterwards. Optionally, a glide path shifts into a safer portfolio over time.
How to read the result: the success rate is the share of paths in which a goal is paid in full. The fan shows wealth in today's purchasing power with good, middle and bad paths. If the plan is not safe enough, the tool names the additional monthly savings that would reach the target success rate.

Frequently asked questions
What is a success rate?
The share of simulated paths in which an expense is paid in full, for ongoing withdrawals on every date. 75% means it works in three out of four paths.
How do the priorities work?
High-priority expenses are paid as long as there is money. Medium and low only if wealth and future contributions still cover the more important future expenses afterwards. That way the world trip does not crowd out retirement.
What does today's purchasing power mean?
All amounts are adjusted for inflation: a withdrawal in today's purchasing power buys later what the same amount buys today. In nominal terms, at 2% inflation it is almost 50% higher after 20 years.
What is a glide path?
A plan that gradually shifts wealth from one portfolio into a second one over time, e.g. from stocks to bonds before retirement. The simulation runs both portfolios on the same paths.
